Death Penalty Progress

I'm not sure what all I'm supposed to put up on here from the death penalty project. I'm just about wrapping it up now...working on cooling down some colors and such right now so any critique would help. (Apologies that it's a crappy pixelly screenshot.)

Collab Beginnings

This is retardedly hard to see, but it's my sketch that I just passed over to Rory to paint. So brutal. I'll update when it's finished.

***snapped a photo of Rory's painting in progress!

Logo

Made it into a band logo for my boyfriend's band. I found some cool metal fonts in the process, too. I played around a lot with integrating the text...I feel a lot of times when text is placed on an image for a logo it just flattens out or looks simply pasted on, so I tried it with a 1pt white stroke and slightly blurred it in hopes it would look less sharp and out of place...plus I put the drool/tongue overtop of it.

NOT Schoolwork

WOO! I for once didn't have anything due Thursday (wtf!?) so I colored this tiger guy I've been working on. Colored linework and all! He is cropped weird because the linework scanned up cropped off on the left and I was too lazy to rescan :P Hehe.

Photo Edits

Cropped and curved the two previous photos to make these look a little better. I might go in and color these digitally if I get some free time soon.

Rozelle Artists Guild Sketchbook Preview

I'm participating in the Rozelle Artist's Guild's upcoming exhibit, Project Sketchbook, and here are a few crappy digital camera photos previewing what is in store from me. I stuck to a theme of animal skulls. Initially I was going to just do cow skulls, but all animal skulls are interesting/creepy/brutal! Aesthetically I feel like I've already matured/changed art wise. I have more of a desire for detail these days, or at least excessive line work that phantoms attempts at being more realistic. Which I like. A lot.

PS I laughed when I scrolled down and saw like, the same image of a mouth with something hairy coming out of it. I swear to God everyone has to think I'm the weirdest person alive, or that I'm constantly tripping.

Art book idea

No new art due to waiting for my tablet, and no scanner, but in the meantime, enjoy this lady I never posted here! She is part of a concept I'd like to work on this summer/next semester of MONSTER LADIES (and possibly their boy counterparts?) to assemble into an artbook and to further practice photoshop skills with.

Senior Portraits

I don't know if I'm allowed to post these yet, but they were supposed to be a big project by the Illustration 2 class to draw a certain amount of assigned seniors for the final issue of the Black and White. I think they are now being released at graduation, so don't tell anyone! I was assigned Melissa Ball, Dominic VanHorn and Amy Lowright.

In other news, probs no new art for a while for the fact I can only draw shitty and depressing pictures of me being dumped, and I'm going home to a scannerless and probably internetless room. So, I'll be back eventually!

Lady

I'm gettin better with those there brush lines, me thinks. Sorry for her wonky hand. I fixed her wonky eye/eyebrows but was too lazy to fix that. I keep trying to draw diverse ladies, and it works sometimes, but then when I draw guys they all look like my boyfriend. I need to practice GUYS instead haha. Not that it's a bad thing they look like him, but that's just my opinion and I'm sure everyone else is like "WTF". As usual, texture from www.hibbary.deviantart.com

Reinvention

I'm trying to make my monsters look more like my humans. I got a lot of compliments on my human art and I want to kind of consciensciously unify the two. I feel like my monsters were leaning into a style that wasn't my own, gaining little popular quirks and letting mesoamerican art influence me rather than let myself influence it and make something new. So this is what I came up with, and I like it. It's not a HUGE difference, and these were quickies, but I think it's big enough for me to feel like my art is finally unified.

ART DUMP

I will write about these here rather than write underneath them. BASICALLY I made a new female character with which to interact with my Linh character. She has no name yet, and is probably going to star in a short comic where she sees monsters like the tongue tied guy when she's high. fun times!!!!

Demigod and Monster

A hypno anteater monster and a demigod pig. He would be the demigod of metal, I'm sure. Or Gwar. He looks so much like Oderus. Bahhaa. He needs a name!
